The Top Signs of Endodontic Issues
Several signs could indicate that you have endodontic issues, including:
- You feel like your gums are a bit sore and tender.
- You may notice that your gums have changed color a bit.
- You may feel shooting pains that travel from your mouth to other areas of your head and neck.
- You might feel uncomfortable eating and drinking hot and cold foods.
- You noticed that you have swelling in certain parts of your neck.
If any of these symptoms describe what you are experiencing, count on us to help you. The sooner you reach out to us, the faster you can recover.
Do I Need a Root Canal?
Many treatment options are available, but one of the most common ones is a root canal. During a root canal, we will remove areas of infection and inflammation from the root. It is important for you to address oral decay as quickly as possible to prevent this issue from happening; however, if you have an infection in the pulp of the tooth, we need to remove that to save the tooth itself.
Before we move forward, we may take X-rays of your mouth. That way, we can get a better look at everything that is happening underneath the surface. Then, if we believe that a root canal is the best way to address the issue, we will discuss it with you. We have other treatment options available, but our top priority is to save the tooth and help you recover.
Do You Offer Sedation?
If you require one of these procedures, we do have sedation available. Not everyone will require sedation, but it is something that we offer. Furthermore, we have different types of sedation, allowing you to find the right option to meet your needs. We would be happy to talk about your choices with you, so give us a call if you want to learn more about how we can keep you comfortable during the procedure.
